TL;DR

  • Expandi is a finished LinkedIn and email campaign tool: a builder with 20 actions and 11 conditions, personalization, a unified inbox and CRM syncs. Curviate, a LinkedIn API, CLI, MCP server and TypeScript SDK for AI agents, is the LinkedIn layer your own agent or software drives. If your agent should decide each LinkedIn action, use Curviate.
  • Expandi costs USD 99 per LinkedIn account a month, or USD 79 a month billed annually. Curviate costs EUR 20 a month, or EUR 16 a month billed annually, excl. VAT, and meters no actions.
  • Expandi does have an API: a REST Open-API with 40 operations, 8 of which schedule LinkedIn and email actions for its campaign engine. Around it sit 25 webhook events and an MCP server in beta that cannot activate a campaign or send without approval. I found no Expandi SDK or CLI.
  • Curviate's API has 159 operations. 130 of them are LinkedIn actions and reads that run directly, including the home feed and notifications.

This page is for teams choosing between a LinkedIn outreach tool and an API their AI agent can drive. I build Curviate, the second kind. The Expandi side rests on its public pages, help center and API documentation as they stood on October 2, 2026.

Is Curviate the right Expandi alternative for you?

It is when your agent (Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) or your own code decides each LinkedIn action. Expandi is built for teams where people run LinkedIn and email campaigns from a drag-and-drop builder, with email steps in the same sequence as LinkedIn steps.

The two APIs do different jobs. Curviate's performs LinkedIn actions and reads LinkedIn data: profiles, search, feed, notifications. Expandi's queues steps for its campaign engine. Curviate also costs less per account, and every seat gets the API, CLI, MCP server and SDK.

How do Curviate and Expandi compare at a glance?

Curviate has the larger API, the lower price per account, and a CLI and SDK. Expandi has a campaign builder for people. Sources, as of October 2, 2026: Expandi's pricing page, help center and API documentation, plus Curviate's pricing page and OpenAPI document. "Not found" means I did not find it on the pages I checked, which does not prove the product lacks it.

How much does Expandi cost?

Expandi has one self-serve plan, Business: USD 99 per seat per month, or USD 79 per month billed annually (pricing page). On both products a seat is one connected LinkedIn account. The page calls the annual price "20% Off" and also "2 months free", which are different discounts; the price shown is USD 79. Agency starts at 10 seats, with a custom price. Its FAQ says "additional taxes may vary by country". Image and GIF personalization and video personalization are paid add-ons. And per its seats article, disconnecting a LinkedIn account does not cancel the seat.

Curviate is EUR 20 per account a month, or EUR 16 a month billed annually, excl. VAT, with the API, CLI, MCP server and SDK included. I did not convert currencies. One account is USD 99 against EUR 20 monthly, or USD 79 against EUR 16 billed annually. Five accounts are USD 495 against EUR 100 monthly, or USD 395 against EUR 80 billed annually. At ten accounts it is Expandi's custom Agency price against EUR 200 monthly, or EUR 160 billed annually.

Neither meters LinkedIn actions. Expandi caps usage with daily limit ranges, warm-up and campaign limits (15 active campaigns, 5,000 leads each, per its help center). On Curviate the ceilings are LinkedIn's own limits and the per-account safety limits you set.

Does Expandi have an API?

Yes. Expandi's account settings article explains how to generate API keys and links the API documentation, an "Expandi Open-API" in Swagger 2.0. Calls carry a key and a secret header. The article says the API is "intended only for users with existing API knowledge".

Eight of its 40 operations schedule an action for Expandi's engine: a connection request, a message, an open InMail, an email, a profile visit, a post like, a comment or a post. Its Actions group holds 12 operations in total, adding status checks and scheduled-post management. The rest list, assign and connect things: accounts, lead lists, campaign contacts, keywords, conversations. The schema has no endpoint to create or edit a campaign, read a profile or run a search. The table sorts both APIs by what each operation acts on.

Around the API, Expandi adds campaign plumbing. There are 25 webhook events, reversed webhooks that add people to a campaign or pause them, Zapier through webhooks, and native HubSpot, Pipedrive and Salesforce syncs. I found no Expandi SDK or CLI on npm, PyPI or GitHub.

Its MCP server is labelled beta. It builds lead lists and campaign drafts, adds and pauses leads, and drafts replies. Per its MCP page it cannot activate a campaign, send without approval, edit a running campaign or change your limits. No tool list is published. Expandi's own pages disagree on availability. The home page says "Private beta", while its launch post says it is live on every account.

Curviate's API is account-scoped REST (OpenAPI 3.1). A call sends the invitation or reads the feed, and the CLI, SDK, hosted MCP server and signed webhooks run on the same key.

Which LinkedIn actions do Expandi and Curviate each cover?

Both cover profile visits, follows, connection requests, messages, InMail, skill endorsements, post likes and inviting connections to follow a company page.

Expandi's builder adds steps that only exist inside a campaign: event invites, messages to group members, email steps, a webhook step, tags and transfer to another campaign. Its lead lists import from LinkedIn search, Sales Navigator (up to 2,500 people per list), Recruiter (up to 1,000), post engagers, groups and event attendees.

Curviate covers a lot that Expandi's pages do not list. Your agent can read the home feed, list and dismiss notifications, and reply as a company page from its admin inbox. People, company, post, job, group and service search are API calls. So are group members, job postings with applicants, and Sales Navigator and Recruiter actions (beta, licence required). Posts work differently too. Expandi's API schedules a post. Curviate's publishes it when the agent calls, so the agent picks the moment. The closest Expandi gets to a feed is its Content feature (beta), which tracks posts by keyword or profile so you can react and comment from its UI.

How do Expandi and Curviate handle account safety?

Expandi gives each account a dedicated country-based IP "provided by a data center", or a custom proxy. It adds randomized daily limit ranges and a gradual warm-up that starts at 5 actions per day and rises to 21. Its footer says "Use of Expandi is at your own risk."

Curviate runs each account in its own cloud browser, with per-account ceilings on every action and a warm-up window for new accounts (safety). A crossed ceiling returns a warning until you set the account to enforce. After that, the call is refused.

On Curviate, a repeat profile read inside the 12-hour default comes from your workspace's store and leaves the action budget for invitations and messages (caching guide). Expandi documents no read cache on its Open-API schema, MCP pages or pricing. Its API has no profile reads in the first place, and its MCP launch post says the MCP "checks how much headroom you have left" before adding volume.

How does an agent read the LinkedIn feed through Curviate's API?

One request returns an account's home feed as posts with ids your agent can comment on or react to.

shell
# Read an account's LinkedIn home feed, newest first
curl "https://api.curviate.com/v1/$ACCOUNT_ID/feed/home?sort=recent&limit=10"
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $CURVIATE_API_KEY"

Is Expandi worth it, or should you build on an API?

Expandi is worth it only if your outreach fits its 11 campaign types and a person runs it from the UI. The tool is opinionated. Sequence logic, conditions and personalization are decided in its builder, and its API has no endpoint to create or edit a campaign.

With Curviate your agent gets the LinkedIn actions, and the logic stays yours to change per lead.

What do you lose when you switch from Expandi?

Switching means taking over five things Expandi does for you.

  • Expandi tracks where each lead stands. Pause running campaigns before you connect the account to Curviate, otherwise Expandi and your agent both send a first message.
  • Disconnecting the LinkedIn account in Expandi does not cancel the seat, so cancel it separately.
  • Curviate has no email steps, placeholders or image personalization. If you send email from Expandi today, that needs another tool.
  • Your webhook, Zapier and CRM mappings have to be set up again, on Curviate's webhooks or in your own code.
  • Expandi's builder holds your follow-up rules. On Curviate your agent writes them, and can change them per lead.

Where does an AI agent fit next to Expandi?

On Curviate's side. Expandi is built for people who run LinkedIn and email campaigns in its UI. An agent needs the LinkedIn account itself. Start with one account on the 3-day trial (no card) and wire your agent to the API, CLI, MCP or SDK, whichever it already speaks.

Not affiliated with LinkedIn Corporation. Expandi prices and features in this article are as published on its pages on October 2, 2026.

Your agent runs LinkedIn, not a campaign builder.
